Sean Pasieka has been teaching elementary Physical Education for over 20 years. He has honed his craft by attending and pursuing a variety of professional development over the years as his passion and commitment to do what is best for his students has always been a priority. Sean has always had an interest in presenting but has always been intimidated by the massive scope that presenting entails. In January 2015, he approached Dan Clark with the idea of the PE Jam and they held the very first event that March.
"I've always wanted to present but was unsure I had enough content and material to do so" Sean says. "The PE Jam was created with the idea that anyone could present one idea, for fifteen minutes, to a small group of people. As small, intimate setting that encourages sharing and support."
Dan Clark has been teaching Preschool to 4th grade physical education for the past 13 years at the Aaron Decker School in Butler NJ. Dan started his relationship with Sean in 2009 as his student teacher and has made a concerted effort during his career to ensure quality PE practices were implemented. Through the support of fellow PE teachers and administration, Dan has been able to expand the PE profession with the creation of the PE Jam.
“The PE Jam is a forum for quality PE teachers to spend time with each other, sharing their best ideas and practices. The most unique piece of the PE Jam is student participation during demo lessons. A key takeaway from every PE Jam event is the interaction with the students and management strategies implemented with each unique presenter.”
